Trillium Engineering Officially Launches NyxCore: A Sensor-Integrated AI Engine
New embedded AI engine transforms full motion video into actionable intelligence through real-time detection, tracking, and classification.
HOOD RIVER, OR, JULY 15, 2026 — Trillium Engineering today announced the official launch of NyxCore, its embedded AI engine designed to transform full motion video into actionable intelligence. Built for real-time operational environments, NyxCore delivers onboard detection, tracking, classification, and decision support at the edge, while enabling operators to revisit and analyze scenes beyond the moment of capture.
NyxCore is part of the broader Trillium Intelligence Stack, a tightly integrated system combining sensor control, operator interface, and embedded AI into a unified operational experience. Through integration with Skylink, the user interface, and deployment across sensors, NyxCore enables faster, more informed decisions at the tactical edge.
“Modern missions generate high-volume video data across complex environments,” said Dr. N. Andrew Browning, CTO of Trillium Engineering. “NyxCore changes that dynamic by moving intelligence directly to the sensor. Instead of simply watching video, operators can interact with detected and classified objects, maintain persistent awareness, and revisit what may have been missed in real time.”
Designed to operate at the edge, NyxCore eliminates dependence on downstream processing systems by performing AI-driven analysis at the point of capture. The AI engine supports EO and IR sensors and delivers onboard low-latency performance optimized for mission-critical environments.
NyxCore launches with multiple mission-focused modules designed to support a wide range of operational requirements:
- NyxCore-C is optimized for overland detection, classification, and persistent tracking of vehicles and people, providing actionable object attributes and operational awareness in real time.
- NyxCore-D enables wide-area maritime detection and search, autonomously scanning large environments to detect and track low-visual-signature objects at long range in EO and IR imagery.
- NyxCore-X allows customers to deploy third-party and government-furnished AI models alongside native NyxCore capabilities to support mission-specific workflows and autonomy requirements.
The system also introduces capabilities designed to reduce operator workload and improve mission effectiveness, including autonomous scanning and tracking, slew-to-cue functionality, multi-object awareness, real-time geolocation, chain-of-custody support, and BackTrack Nexus, a non-linear scene analysis capability that enables operators to revisit and analyze past events beyond the moment of capture.
Unlike traditional FMV workflows that rely entirely on manual interpretation, NyxCore enables operators to interact directly with detected and classified objects while maintaining full motion video operations. The result is improved detection reliability, scalable autonomy across mission sets, and greater confidence in dynamic operational environments.
NyxCore is available today through Clarity-HD, with direct integration into the HD40-LVV and HD59 series planned for Summer and Fall 2026.
